Water Tank Project |
The International Law Society (ILS) and Equity
in Developing Countries Group
(EDC) raised $300 to donate to Volunteer Peten for the
construction of three
ferro-cement water tanks.

|
The ILS and EDC raised the money for the tanks in week long raffle
fundraiser.
We set up a table with pictures from El Tigre, diagrams on how to
construct
ferro cement water tanks, a print out from the volunteer web site,
and an
explanation as to how the water tanks can make a difference in
improving living
conditions/health and community planning. Click here to see an
explanation of
FERROCEMENT WATER TANKS.

The support, interest, and positive feedback
from the VLS community was
great.
As for the raffle, roughly 150 Vermont law school students
purchased tickets. A
member of the EDC (Danielle Murray) donated incredible
professional nature
photographs for the raffle. I also added a Hammock from Santa
Elena and a
mosquito net. |
