May 29th through June 14th 2007

Five EAGLE ROCK SCHOOL students  and two teachers returned to San Andres in 2007 to work various projects.  Russ, Marya, Jesse, Ben, Tahira, Peter, and Josh created a beautiful park along the beach with 2 bungalows, coconut trees, and a new basketball court.  They also contructed a swing set and slide for the north school, a new cooking area for the north school, and taught classes in the north school.  They also raised money to help our library, fix desks for schools, and plant fruit trees with local families.  We hope to have them back in 2008!
       

May 22nd through June 9th 2006

Five EAGLE ROCK SCHOOL students  and two teachers returned to  our program in Guatemala for two weeks working with the Ixhuacut School in San Andres, Peten. Students from the Eagle Rock School generated over $1,000 in funds for projects in Ixhuacut, which included painting the Ixhuacut School and building a playground for the town of Ixhuacut which includes a swing set, two bungalows, fence, teetertoters, and monkey bard Eagle Rock Students also taught classes in the Escuela Norte to 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.  We had anonter amazing experience with the group from the Eagle Rock School, and await their return in 2007.

 

( May 25th through June 7th 2005)

 

Five EAGLE ROCK SCHOOL students (Jose, Ana, Katie, Evan, and Taynee) and two teachers (Russ and Marya) participated in our program in Guatemala for two weeks working with the Escuela Norte in San Andres, Peten. Students from the Eagle Rock School generated over $1,500 in funds for projects in San Andres, which included purchashing over $500 of books for the public library, painting and repairs to the Instituto Basico, building a kindergarden for the Escuela Norte, and building a water tank for the Escuela Norte.  Jose, Ana, Katie, Evan and Taynee also taught English classes to local 5th and 6th grades in San Andres and in the rural community of Ixhuacut.  We had an amazing experience with the group from the Eagle Rock School, and await their return in 2006.
